What is Managed Cloud?

Managed cloud is an operating model in which an external engineering team takes ongoing responsibility for running cloud infrastructure — monitoring, incident response, patching, backups, capacity and cost visibility — so the in-house team can focus on the product rather than day-to-day operations.

Day-to-Day Operations Without the Overhead

Running infrastructure well requires ongoing attention — monitoring, patching, backup oversight and steady operational discipline. Ongoing managed support means this work has a defined owner and a defined process, instead of happening reactively whenever something breaks.

We support these day-to-day operational responsibilities so your team can focus on building, while infrastructure stays maintained, monitored and observed on a continuing basis — not just at initial setup.

The Challenge

Problems This Service Solves

No One Owns Day-to-Day Operations

Infrastructure was built once and nobody is responsible for keeping it maintained since.

Patches and Updates Fall Behind

Security patches and version upgrades get delayed indefinitely because nobody has bandwidth.

Backups Exist but Are Never Tested

Backups run on a schedule, but nobody knows if they would actually restore successfully.

Incidents Are Found by Customers First

The team learns about outages from user complaints instead of internal monitoring.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "managed cloud" actually include day to day?

Ongoing monitoring, patch and update management, backup oversight, performance and capacity review, and being the first responder when infrastructure issues come up — the operational work that has to happen continuously, not just at initial setup.

Do you replace our internal team, or work alongside them?

Both are possible depending on your situation. Some clients have no internal infrastructure function and want it fully covered; others have a small team and want managed support to extend their operational capacity, especially for coverage outside business hours.

How do you handle incident response?

We monitor for the signals that matter and respond when something needs attention — the specific response process (who's contacted, how quickly, what's escalated) is defined during onboarding so expectations are clear from day one.

Is this different from Site Reliability Engineering?

Managed Cloud is the ongoing operational work — keeping systems running, patched and backed up. Site Reliability Engineering is more about defining reliability targets (SLIs/SLOs) and engineering the system to meet them. Many engagements include both.
